The return of professional conductor Howard Taylor to Waitakere for this years contest met with instant success.
In Napier at the National Band Contest in July, Waitakere was in good form winning the A Grade trophy for a Sacred Item and runner-up to Wellington Brass in the mandatory Test piece.
