Waiheke Island is a haven of beautiful vineyards, olive groves, beaches and brass bands. Well ...... one brass band .... us ..... when we take to the water in December!
We were just a little bit excited to be invited to work with the Waiheke Hospice for their upcoming Christmas fundraiser. Who wouldn't want to put their hand up for that gig?
Our Vice President, Chris Lines, who lives on the island, has been coordinating the logistics of getting the band over there for the 15th December event. A big thank you to Fullers who are getting the band and all our gear over there for free, in support of this event. Passengers on our ferry may be treated to some festive tunes as we arrive into the island.
The concert will be a Christmas extravaganza with carols and sing-along numbers. The band will perform with popular guests Sister Shout who have a big following on the island.
The concert is being held at the Morra Hall in Oneroa. Tickets are limited to 200 so get yours quickly if so you don't miss out.
Ticket sales will go towards supporting the day to day operations of the Waiheke Hospice Homecare. Hospice has always been close to our heart since the West Auckland Hospice cared for one of our dear band members Peter Weston a few years ago.
Rumour has it we will be having our band awards dinner at a vineyard so watch this space for more on that one ;-)
