Our Christmas Concert with The City of Sails Chorus was full of Christmas cheer.
We certainly needed a big venue for this years show as the audience filled the auditorium at The Bruce Ritchie Performing Arts Centre. Supporters travelled from far afield this year and it was lovely to welcome lots of groups from local retirement villages.
Audience members were treated to a blend of carols they could sing along to and other pieces they could just sit back and enjoy, soaking in the Christmas atmosphere while compere Jamie Mackay guided us through the brass programme.
Our soloists, as always were hitting the high notes and treated the audience to some stunning performances.
It was awesome to see our Youth Band perform on the big stage led by Musical Director, Linda Fileomahala who is clearly nurturing some talented young players for the future.
The finale came when both bands combined perfectly to perform Pokarekare Ana which was wonderfully harmonious and loved by the crowd who gave a rapturous applause at the end.
We loved working with the City of Sails Chorus and hope to work with them again. As you can see and hear from the short video clip below, the combined bands finale was a wonderful way to sign off our concert series for 2017.
Thanks to our wonderful photographer David Watson for this video clip and the accompanying photos below. A full photo commentary can be found on our facebook page and website photo gallery.
Until next year ...............
